Let's Play Catch (Up)

Uh-oh, it's getting to be busier this semester which means it is harder for Lou Lou and me to keep up with the blogging.

The last show was mostly about the Emmys--I made the prediction that host Neil Patrick Harris would incorporate Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog in the middle of the awards show and I was totally right and, as NPH's How I Met Your Mother character would say, it was LEGEND-wait for it-DARY. I think I was most shocked by Kristin Chenoweth's win for best supporting actress in a comedy, the first award given away that night, but I think the general consensus is that the biggest upset was when Tina Fey DIDN'T win for best actress in a comedy. The award instead went to Toni Collette for United States of Tara (on Showtime). Check out the full list of Primetime Emmy winners here.

This Monday was a big day for fall premieres:
-Dancing With the Stars (I'm cheering for Donny Osmond... even though I don't typically watch the show, but I might watch just to see Aaron Carter, Melissa Joan Hart, and Kelly Osbourne dance... or attempt to? I know Donny will kick butt in the competish. P.S.--If you watch the Aaron Carter video, I would like to point out that his partner Karina Smirnoff is wearing a dead duck as a top and pants made out of the leftover material from her Emmy performance costume)
-Big Bang Theory (The guys come back from the arctic expedition and Penny and Leonard hook up! OMG!)
-How I Met Your Mother (I also predicted on our show that Robin and Barney would start dating and I was... sort of right. They hooked up secretly over the summer but when Lily found out she made them "define the relationship" so they lied and said they were bf/gf. But were they lying?... Also, Ted started his first day as a college professor. He went to the wrong classroom and started teaching to the wrong students.)
-House and Heroes also premiered but I haven't watched Heroes since the second season and I only watch House occasionally but FUN FACTS: Hugh Laurie played a detective in Spice World (the HIT movie) and Jesse Spencer (who is back on the team) was one of the love interests for Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen in Winning London!

Upcoming premieres this week:

Wednesday: Cougartown!
Thursday: Grey's Anatomy
Friday: (JOELLEN'S HAPPIEST DAY) Ghost Whisperer AND Medium BOTH on CBS (NBC dropped Medium after last season but thankfully CBS picked it up so Allison doesn't lose her psychic abilities after she gets her brain tumor removed). I love ghosties.
Saturday: Saturday Night Live hosted by Megan Fox and musical guest U2 (I just saw Jennifer's Body and I loved it. But I love weird movies that involve paranormal things so maybe that's just me. The critics for the most part did not agree with my review.)

Hmmm... maybe next week's show will have a paranormal theme: review of Medium and Ghost Whisperer, Liza Minnelli's role on last Sunday's episode of Drop Dead Diva, and, of course, in-depth discussion of TRUE BLOOD?
I'll have to pitch this to Lou Lou.

Until next week,
Thank you for being a friend!

XOXO,
Joellen
